I’m Andrea Elera (Lima, 1986), a mother, arteducadora and cultural organizer. I live in Amsterdam and do art and research projects in the Netherlands and Peru. My practice involves organizing platforms for critical action, centered on the public role of artists and art institutions to reflect, organize and think critically on what we know as the public sphere. I experiment with collective forms of organizing and instituting through art making: from sharing stories, reading, mapping, drawing and archiving, as spaces of listening, togetherness and resisting.

My material artistic practice involves drawing, printing, and the lumbung concept of ‘harvesting’, a collective practice of archiving. Sometimes these processes are made public in the shape of talks, workshops, installations, actions or texts. I understand these experiences as an ongoing collective liberatory learning process.

In this sense, I identify more with collective work and organizing spaces than with working in traditional exhibition formats. I'm very interested in maintaining coherence between my work as an artist and what I practice on a daily basis: intersectional feminism, anti-racism, fat liberation, social justice, multivocality, inclusion of children in art and activism spaces, as well as the search for non-extractive forms of creation, permeate my work and the collaborations I choose to participate in.

Currently Public Programme Coordinator at the Rijksakademie, artist and organizer at Grond, and the collective Feministas en Holanda.

Research Master rMA (Art and Performance Research Studies-UvA) 2023, and Master in Education - ME (Art Education -ArtEZ), 2020, Bachelor in Fine Arts - Painting BA -PUCP, 2017.
