In this discussion, we explored the role of artist-educators in shaping the world through creative interventions. The conversation revolved around Art-Based Learning (ABL) and its potential to contribute to building futures worth living in and worlds worth fighting for. Drawing from sessions in an online masterclass on ABL, we examined the challenges we must overcome to unleash the creative turn needed in the 21st century.

Mieke Bal, writer, video artist, and curator; Jeroen Lutters, Professor of Art Education as Critical Tactics at ArtEZ University of the Arts; and I, Andrea Elera Coello, alumna of the iMAE (International Masters Artist Educator) program at ArtEZ University, reflected on these crucial themes.
